Story

Kids Rainbow Covenant Bible Story for the Bookmark Craft:
The Rainbow Promise Bookmark craft connects to the story of Noah’s Ark and the Rainbow Covenant in Genesis 9:8-17, a perfect story for young children to understand God’s love and faithfulness. In this story, God chose Noah, a good man who loved Him, to build a giant boat called an ark because the world had become full of people making bad choices. God told Noah that a big flood was coming, but He would keep Noah, his family, and representatives of every animal safe. Noah built the ark and brought in animals like lions, zebras, and birds—two of each kind! When the flood came, it rained for 40 days and nights, covering the whole earth with water. The ark floated safely, protecting everyone inside. After the floodwaters went down, Noah, his family, and the animals stepped onto dry land, ready to start a new life. God then made a special promise, or covenant, with Noah: He would never again send a flood to destroy the earth. To remind everyone of this promise, God placed a beautiful rainbow in the sky, full of bright colors like red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. God said that whenever a rainbow appears, it’s a sign of His promise to care for His people and the earth. While kids decorate their bookmarks with rainbow stickers, they can think about how the rainbow is a symbol of God’s love and how He always keeps His promises, just like He did for Noah. The bookmark becomes a little reminder they can use in their Bibles to mark this special story!

- Transparent packing tape
- Space stickers (featuring planets, stars, and rockets)

- Scissors

1. Cut the cardstock into a square frame (about 4x4 inches with a 2x2 inch opening in the center).
2. Cut a piece of transparent packing tape to fit over the opening and press it down to create a sticky surface.
3. Let children decorate the sticky side with space stickers to represent the stars and heavens created by God on Day 4.
4. Seal with another piece of transparent packing tape over the stickers and trim the excess. Use it to frame a small Bible verse or drawing!

Kids Bible Story for Space Creation Frame:
This craft is inspired by Genesis 1:14-19, the story of the fourth day of creation. On this day, God said, "Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years." God made the sun, moon, and stars, placing them in the sky to give light to the earth and show His wonderful power. As the children add space stickers like planets and stars, they can imagine how God created the heavens and filled them with beauty. You can read this story from a children’s Bible and talk about how God’s creation is amazing, just like the stickers they’re using!
