Long ago, there was a man named Jesus who loved everyone so much. He helped people,
taught them about God, and showed them how to be kind. But some people didn’t like what
Jesus was doing. They decided to arrest Him and put Him on a cross to die. This happened on
a day we call Good Friday. Even though it was sad, Jesus didn’t stay dead! Three days later, on
Easter Sunday, He came back to life. His friends went to His tomb and saw it was empty, and
angels told them, “Jesus is alive!” This is why we celebrate Easter—it’s the day Jesus showed
He was stronger than death and that God’s love wins!
Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even if they
die.”
“Jesus said, ‘I am the life!’” – John 11:25
Encourage the kids to say it with a big smile and point up to the sky!
“Dear God, thank You for Jesus and for Easter. Thank You that He came back to life so we can
be with You forever. Help us to love others like Jesus does. Amen.”
Jesus Brings New Life
“Have you ever seen a flower grow or a butterfly come out of a cocoon? It’s like
new life!” Tell them Easter is about new life too. Jesus died, but He didn’t stay dead—He came
back, just like spring brings new flowers after winter. For young kids, focus on how happy Jesus’
friends were when they saw Him alive. For big kids, add that Jesus’ rising means we can have
hope and be friends with God forever.
Give each child a small flower (real or paper) to hold. Say, “This flower reminds us of new life.
Jesus gives us new life too!” Let them take it home to remember Easter.
