Once there was a boy named Joseph, one of Jacob’s 12 sons. His dad loved him so much that
he gave him a beautiful coat with all the colors of the rainbow. Joseph wore it everywhere, twirling and smiling! But his older brothers weren’t happy—they thought Joseph was showing off.
One night, Joseph had big dreams. “I saw us as stars, and you were all bowing to me!” he told his brothers. They got so mad they made a sneaky plan. They took his colorful coat and threw him into a dry, dusty well. Then some traders came by, and the brothers sold Joseph like he was a toy they didn’t want anymore.
The traders took Joseph far away to Egypt, where he worked for a man named Potiphar. Even though things were tough, Joseph trusted God. He worked hard, and God helped him do everything well. But then Potiphar’s wife told a lie about Joseph, and he got thrown into jail! In jail, Joseph didn’t give up—he even helped other prisoners understand their dreams.
One day, the king of Egypt, called Pharaoh, had a strange dream about skinny cows eating fat cows. No one could figure it out until Joseph came along. “God says there will be lots of food for seven years, then no food for seven years,” Joseph explained. “We should save up!” Pharaoh was amazed and put Joseph in charge of all Egypt to save the food.
Years later, when there was no food anywhere, Joseph’s brothers came to Egypt looking for grain. They didn’t know it was Joseph because he looked like an Egyptian boss now! Joseph forgave them and said, “Don’t be sad—God sent me here to help you!” He gave them food and hugged them tight. His family moved to Egypt, and Joseph’s tribe grew big, splitting into two groups—Manasseh and Ephraim.
Joseph’s colorful coat got him into trouble, but his trust in God turned everything into a happy ending!
Genesis 50:19-20 – “But Joseph said to them, ‘Don’t be afraid… You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.’”
“God turns bad into good for me!” (Inspired by Genesis 50:20)
Joseph started with a fancy coat and big dreams, but his brothers were mean to him. Even when he was sold and put in jail, God was with him. He forgave his brothers and saved his family, showing kids that God can make good things happen, even on hard days!
