The POWER Words of Little Samuel

Scripture:

Proverbs 18:21, which says, “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”

Story:

Once upon a time, in a small village, there lived a boy named Samuel. Samuel loved to play, but sometimes he would say mean things when he got upset. His mother, who was very wise, told him about the power of words.

“Samuel,” she said, “words are like seeds. When you plant them in the hearts of others, they grow into either beautiful flowers or prickly thorns. The Bible says, ‘The tongue has the power of life and death.’ This means our words can make people feel happy and alive, or sad and hurt.”

One day, Samuel decided to try out this power. He went to the village square where he saw his friend, Leah, looking sad because she had lost her favorite toy. Instead of saying something mean, Samuel said, “Leah, I’m sorry you lost your toy, but we can look for it together!

Leah’s face lit up with a big smile, and they found the toy under a bush. As they played, Samuel noticed that every kind word he spoke made people around him happier. When he said, “You’re really good at drawing, Tom!” Tom’s painting became even more colorful and joyful.

At the end of the day, Samuel’s mother asked him how his day was. “It was wonderful, Mom!” he exclaimed. “When I used kind words, everyone was happy, and it made me happy too!”

From that day forward, Samuel remembered the power of his words. He chose to speak kindly, knowing that his words were like seeds that could grow into beautiful gardens in the hearts of others.

And so, the village became a happier place, all because little Samuel learned about the power of positive words.

Remember, like Samuel, we can all use our words to plant seeds of kindness and see them grow into beautiful things.
