Jesus said, “This, then, is how you should pray:
‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’” (Matthew 6:9-13, NIV)
Cause You’re the best, God, forever and ever. Amen!
“Super special” instead of “hallowed,” “naughty” instead of “debts,” and “sneaky bad guy” instead of “evil one” make it relatable.
It keeps God as a loving Father they can talk to.
The reference to Matthew 6:9-13 lets them know this comes from Jesus, which teachers or parents can explain.
You can encourage them to say it together or even make it a song to help them remember! Let me know if you’d like help with that.
